A unique learning centre for the learning of the techniques and history of printmaking
With the aim of preserving the art of printmaking and passing it on to as wide a public as possible, the Workshop holds courses in the different techniques of printmaking, lectures and study days for artists, students, curators, researchers and the general public. The Workshop also has connections with academic institutions and schools in Jerusalem and offers guided tours to groups of students and pupils.
Content of the Courses
The Workshop offers specific courses in screenprinting, etching, and woodcutting. Each course includes a basic acquaintance with the Workshop and its methods, a historical survey of the technique being studied, and practical sessions. The courses are held in small groups of 7-8 students to allow personal instruction and guidance. All of the courses are given by the Workshop’s master printers which are experts in their fields. Individual use of the Workshop space (according to availability) and advanced courses are available for graduates of the basic courses.
